The August issue of macCompanion is online now. There are still a couple of loose ends, but well get those handled this week. (The missing pieces are the magazine cover and Dr. John Chois Team Banzai report.)
Whats special? Besides weekly discussions at Mac ReviewCast with Tim Verpoorten at http://www.macreviewcast.com and his gallery link to our July issue cover in Episode #8 on his daily Blog at http:// www.surfbits.com, expect an up-and-coming discussion on Gene Steinbergs online radio show in the near future at http:// www.techbroadcasting.com.
What do we have for you in the August issue?
We discuss the overall worldwide Mac usage numbers, Leland Scott covers Tiger Widget-building, Gene Steinberg writes about the 400,000 new WinTel migrants, Harry Babad takes some time with FileMaker in Rants, Raves and Revelations, Ted Bade offers his news reviews in Views from the Ivory Tower, there are 19 book reviews (yes, 19), 4 game reviews by Derek Meier, 1 hardware review by Mike Swope, 2 shareware reviews by Harry Babad and 8 software reviews including a Photoshop CS2 review by James Meister and we also cover Delicious Library, iRemember Scrapbooking, iTaskX project management, NoteBook (the latest release was July 30th), Simon 2.0 and finally, Video Cue Pro, a Vodcast/Podcast teleprompter.
Want more numbers? We had over 14 GB worth of bandwidth consumed by readers just like you for the month of July.
Well get the PDF and Flash versions available to you later this week.

Looking forward to September We are hosting a contest for best Switcher submittal (either Mac OS 7, 8 or 9 and/or WinTel/Linux switching story) from August through October and we already have 2 prizes (two copies of The Mac Xcode 2 book from Wiley) lined up for the winners. Contest submittals can be sent to feedback@maccompanion.com. This is open to all who have purchased Mac OS X Tiger or any new Apple computer systems since Mac OS X Tiger was released, except vendors or macCompanion staff members.
There will as be another Adobe CS2 review and we will have some information on Macromedias next Studio release. I think you will enjoy any Reeses Pieces (Chocolate and Peanut Butter mixing) convergence if the stockholders approve of the Adobe/Macromedia merger.
You are on this distribution list because you asked to be. If you would like that changed. please let us know at notify@maccompanion.com.
And please continue to spread the word about macCompanion. The "Whisper Campaign" is succeeding because you let others know about us.
Oh yes, and if you would like permission to reprint of any of our articles, please ask and we will gladly do so.
Thanks for dropping by and reading!
